The quiet hours
Guarding two hours a day from screens, servers, and the feeling that everything needs tending.
Matteson Machielse
written from the rack room
The homelab taught me something backwards about rest: systems that are always being tended are usually being tended badly. The ones that hum along are the ones I designed to leave alone.
Applying the same policy to myself: two hours a day with no screens and nothing to administer. The rack survives it. So do I, it turns out.
